Last Friday I had the opportunity to meet with the President of North Star Fine Coffees Mr. Bryan-David Scott. I was introduced to Mr. Scott by Krystal Lechner of Smashing Diva Cosmetic Artistry as a potential sponsor of Emerald City Fashion Week. Mr. Scott and I had exchanged several emails and a few phone conversations until we found the time in both our incredibly full schedules to meet.
The rapport was instant and Bryan-David and I connect not only as businessman, but also as Christians. I don't often talk about my faith, primarily because I really don't think its anyone's business and I don't want to be one of those folks that throw it in others' faces. Bryan-David as it turns out is a former police Chaplain and minister. We both expressed our challenges with organized religion and how religion and the practice of what Jesus taught are two very different things. It was rather comforting to know I was not alone in my views.
In the course of our conversation I learned a great deal about North Star as well. The purpose of our meeting after all was to discuss ECFW. As Bryan-David explained to me the high standards he holds for the coffee they produce I knew North Star was a perfect fit. Did you know that you will never find a broken bean in a bag of North Star fine coffee? I couldn't believe it, that is a commitment to quality! Needless to say we're very excited that North Star has come on board as the official coffee of ECFW. I can tell you first hand their coffee is amazing!
