In January of 2007, a short four months after leaving the auto industry and starting my business I sat down and wrote out exactly what I wanted to achieve. A friend had introduced me to The Secret, long before Oprah got wind of it, and I was watching it once a day. In addition to my goals I began to keep a journal of all the business and motivational books I was reading. I would write down key passages that evoked a strong emotional reaction to reinforce it in my mind and provide me a single reference source.
Today I want to share with you the one goal that is of the highest importance to me. Nearly two years ago now I committed myself to developing my business to the point where I could provide 250 full ride scholarships a year to my old business school. I will freely admit that I am a long way off from being able to do this as Seattle University is a private school and quite a hefty investment. I put this out there to you my readers to one; hold me accountable to it, and two; spread it through the ether of the universe so as to draw to me the resources I need to do it.
Effective December 1, 2008 10% of all profits from Azimuth Branding will be set aside in an insured account to begin accumulating the necessary funds for my goal. With the support of my current and future I clients I fully expect to be able to begin distributing funds by September 2009. This will of course be done on a small scale initially, but will increase as we grow. Thank you in advance for all of your support.
What an excellent goal Steven. It amazes me how few people in the world understand the concept that you so articulately expressed. Simply, you will get back in direct proportion to what you put in.
ReplyDeleteWell done and stay focused. It will take time but, if you believe in your goal you will make it come true!
